Silent migraines although uncommon, do exist! In Silent Migraines, you do not experience Headaches but still have associated symptoms like dizziness, nausea, increased light and sound sensitivity. An episode of Silent Migraine may last from 1 day to a week in severe cases and may present at a frequency of once a month or 1 to 2 times year.
The biggest concern about silent migraines are that it is usually misdiagnosed because Silent Migraine suffers and their doctors are often looking into the ear or brain as they believe the symptoms experienced in a Silent Migraine is vertigo related or brain related However, brain scans often come back normal and the Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist rules out any vertigo related conditions. Silent Migraine Sufferers often put up with Silent Migraines not realising that the cause of their Silent Migraines is likely to be coming from the neck!
