Been told that your back pain is a result of your poor posture
Wondering how you can improve your posture so that you can get rid of your back pain
A study published in 2019, reported that 1 in 6 Australians (16%) had back problems, equating to 4.0 million Australians. Almost 2 in 5 (38%) people with back problems said pain”moderately” interfered with their daily activities. Here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Physiotherapists help our clients overcome their back pain in the following 3 ways, which in term helps their to improve their posture and prevent future episodes of back pain.
1. Reduce muscle tightness in the front of the chest and shoulders as well as the muscles in the back of the shoulders, and upper to lower back. You can do this at home by trying to massage your own chest and shoulder muscles at the front. In our clinic, we use Radial Shockwave Therapy and soft tissue massage to help release the muscle tightness in the front of the chest, shoulders and upper to lower back.
2. Reduce joint stiffness in the neck, upper back, lower back and shoulders. You can do this at home by using a foam roller to work on each level of your spine. In our clinic, our Expert Physiotherapists carry out specific gentle joint mobilisation techniques to work on each level of your spine and your shoulder joints.
3. Increase core strength in the abdominal and back muscles. You can do this by doing specific core exercises. In our clinic, we would teach our clients specific abdominal and back strengthening exercises according to their level of fitness.
