Stephen Hawking once said “Showing up is half the battle”. We all know that some mornings can be quite the test of your ability to get out of bed. In this day and age you need to prove that you can accomplish more than being at your desk by 9am – it’s those who push the limits that achieve great things.
At My Favourite Physio, we know that overcoming injuries to return to active living or facing the challenging journey of helping your child with special needs learn to walk can really demand you to be more than just present on many days. To achieve successful outcomes, our team at My Favourite Physio applies the 4D Principles :
Decision – Setting specific goals with each person and the outlining the process to achieve each goal. Then asking each person or family to make the Decision on whether they want to follow the planned process to achieve these goals.
Determination – Once the Decision is made on the specific therapy and rehabilitation goals for each person or family. We work together with each person with 100% commitment and Determination to achieve these goals. That means not just turning up to therapy but being present and ready to work through every step of the planned therapy program.
Discipline – To achieve successful outcomes, we demand every person and family to have the Discipline to carry out their home exercise program outside of therapy sessions to capitalise on the progress made in therapy.
Diligence – Often the road to successful outcomes takes time, and it requires Diligence and perseverance to keep believing and executing the exercises and turning up to therapy. Just when you think it’s never going to happen, it does!
So no matter how you feel today – get up, dress up, show up and never give up! One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.
