Does every step feel like you are stepping on a pebble
If you answered yes to the above statements, then you might have Metatarsalgia.
Metatarsalgia is one of the most common conditions resulting in forefoot pain. Metatarsalgia sufferers often report pain and sensitivity to pressure under the front half of the foot when standing, walking or running. These symptoms can happen suddenly or gradually over time and come and go for months or longer.
Metatarsalgia occurs when there is any instability of the joints in the front of the foot under the toes. It is often caused by the following reasons:
poorly fitted footwear
footwear with a narrow toe area which forces the ball-of-foot area to be forced into a minimal amount of space
high heels
collapse of the foot arches
The good news is here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Physiotherapists are able to thoroughly assess and diagnose the cause of your forefoot pain and help to reduce the pressures on the front of your foot and reduce your forefoot pain instantly using soft metatarsal domes and paddings in your footwear. Along with this we are able to help reduce your forefoot pain by reducing the inflammation in your foot joints by using Low Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound.
