27 Oct 😳 Been seeing a Paediatric Physiotherapist for your child with Special Needs 👶🏻 but not seeing any progress in your child’s gross motor skills 🤔Wondering if you should be looking for a second opinion Paediatric Physiotherapist
Here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists🤓 meet many families who are new to the disability and healthcare arena. One of the common concerns parents voice is, not knowing what Early Intervention Paediatric Physiotherapy should look like. The most frustrated parents 😤are those who have been participating in Early Intervention Physiotherapy, as advised by the Children’s Hospitals or Paediatricians, only to learn after months and years of intervention that the therapists their child has been seeing was not delivering effective Early Intervention Physiotherapy to help their child.
To prevent parents from wasting, time, money and resources in the wrong type of Early Intervention Physiotherapy, here are 3 Warning Signs to look out for:
🚩1. If the therapist only sits and watches your child during the therapy session instead of physically holding or guiding your child to perform tasks like rolling, sitting, crawling, standing or walking.
🚩2. If the therapist only tells you what to do but does not physically demonstrate to you how to help your child learn to move. Sometimes you find yourself sitting and talking with the therapist about your child’s possible progress without actually seeing any progress.
🚩3. If the therapist is unable to tell you their previous experience and success with children similar to your child. Instead the therapist tells you that they cannot predict your child’s possible outcomes and states that you need to wait and see.
If your child’s Physiotherapist is doing any of the 3 above actions, you need to ring My Favourite Physio 📱on (02) 9790 4233 or DM us @myfavouritephysio to speak to one of our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists for a second opinion today! 🚀🚀🚀
