12 Jan 🥴Have you noticed that your baby is getting around the house on their back instead of crawling on their tummy 😬Are you concerned that your baby might be delayed in their gross motor skills because you’ve noticed other babies their age is doing more
Developmental delay refers to a condition in which a child does not reach developmental milestones at the expected times. These milestones include physical, cognitive, communication, social, and emotional skills. Developmental delay can manifest in various areas, such as motor skills, speech and language, cognitive abilities, and social interactions.
👶🏻Children develop at different rates, so it’s essential to consider individual differences. However, when a child consistently lags behind their peers in multiple areas of development, it may be indicative of a developmental delay. Delays can be temporary or long-term, and they may be caused by a variety of factors, including genetic conditions, prematurity, environmental factors, or health issues. Early Intervention is the key to managing developmental delay in children.

Here are 3 signs that can indicate gross motor skills delay in babies:
1. Baby is crawling on their back to get around the house instead of crawling on their tummy.
2. Baby is not able to sit upright using their hands to prop themselves because baby is always arching their back to throw themselves backwards.
3. Baby is not putting their legs down to put weight through their feet when supported in standing.
