🥴Have you noticed that your baby is falling over in sitting because they are arching all the time 😬Perhaps you have noticed that your baby is not using their hands to reach for toys because they are arching and holding their arms stiffly by their sides all the time

It’s not uncommon for babies 👶🏻to arch their backs occasionally, and it can have various reasons. However, persistent or frequent arching may indicate an underlying issue that should be addressed.

Here are the Top 3 Common Reasons why Baby is arching all the time:
1. Baby is arching because they spend a lot of time in a Baby Walker or Jolly Jumper. A Baby Walker tends to encourage baby to go onto their toes to move themselves forward. 😬This is particularly when baby is not tall enough when placed in the Baby Walker to be able to have their feet flat while in standing. A Jolly Jumper is designed to bounce when baby bounces on their toes and arch their back to propel themselves off the ground.

2 Baby is arching because they have Gastroesophageal Reflux, stomach contents flow back into the esophagus, causing discomfort especially during or after feeding.😣 Some babies often experience gas pains or colic, which can cause discomfort. Arching their back may be a way to alleviate some of the discomfort.

3 Baby is arching because they are frequently held in supported standing and bounced off the laps of their carer.👴🏻 This encourages babies to bounce off their tip toes and arch their backs similar to what a Jolly Jumper does.

It is important to address these 3 situations to discourage baby from arching all the time because excessive arching can lead to delays in baby’s gross motor skills.
