01 Dec 🥺Been told not to worry about your child 👶🏻because they are just lazy, but you are still concerned 🤔Wondering who you should see about your child’s development because your family doctor 👨⚕️and Paediatrician had said there is nothing to worry about.
🤱”Mother’s instinct is always right”, so if you are feeling concerned about your child’s development, you’re probably right. Here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists 🤓often meet mothers who have been going to different medical specialists to seek an answer to their concerns for their child, only to be told that they are just over reacting and their child will grow out of it or their child will catch up in their own time.
So to help mothers 👩who are concerned about their child and is wondering when do I need to see a Paediatric Physiotherapist about my child’s development, here is a list of symptoms to look out for;
👶🏻1. Baby is very stiff in their arms or legs. They are not moving their arms or legs equally to reach for toys.
👶🏻2. Baby is very floppy and feels like they going to fall through your arms when you carry them. Their muscles feel soft to touch. they are struggling to hold their head upright in all positions.
👶🏻3. Baby is not yet rolling from their tummy to back or back to tummy easily and they are older than 5 months old.
👶🏻4. Baby is not yet sitting by themselves and they are older than 8 months old.
👶🏻5. Baby is not yet crawling by themselves and they are older than 11 months old.
👶🏻6. Baby is not yet standing themselves or pulling to stand on furniture and they are older than 14 months old.
👶🏻7. Baby is not yet walking by themselves and they are already 16-18months old or older.
