12 Jan Are you finding yourself telling your children not to sit too close to the television 📺 or they will ruined their eyesight 👀 Perhaps you keep telling your child not to use their phones 📱to close to their face or they will need glasses 🤓
📱Smartphones have a massive influence on our lives these days, making connecting to our friends and family so easy but unfortunately there are downsides to these mobile technological devices on our lives. 🤨
Here are some smartphone facts:
– Up to 80% of smartphone users check their phone within 1 hour of waking or going to 😴 sleep, 35% of which will do within 5 minutes 🧭 (2016, Deloitte Global Mobile Consumer Survey).
– The average time 🕰 spent on smartphones and tablets is 261 minutes a day (4hrs 33mins) 😳 (2018, BankMyCell’s).
– Nearly 3 out of 4 workers (70 percent) admit they feel distracted when they’re on the job😬 ( Udemy’s survey, 2018).
The impact on our health and wellbeing is also significant! 😳With the average of 4 hour and 33 minutes a day spent on our smartphones 📱and tablets, many of us are sitting for hours with our heads down and poked forward looking at our phones, Or lying in bed 🛏with our iPads and tablets on our chest with our chins tucked and heads down playing games for hours🧭 as we wind down for the night! All this results in an increased number of people, including children, 🥴experiencing neck and shoulder tension resulting in neck pain, as well as headaches 🤕 and migraines!
So the next time you use your child using their smartphone 📱, remind them to make a little change and think about their posture. Straighten up and sit with their head in line with their shoulders, hold their phone at their 👁 eye level. Little changes can result in dramatic changes for their neck pain and headaches!
