03 Nov Do you suffer from migraines 🤕 every month 🗓
Can you predict when your menstrual cycle will start by the migraine symptoms you experience 🥴
If you answered yes to the above statements then you are not alone! 😓
Many women 👩🦰 report that their menstrual cycle seems to be a trigger for their migraines. These women are correct! There is a specific condition known as ‘Menstrual migraine’ which does occur 2 days before and after day 1 of the cycle.
Menstrual migraines have been associated with falling levels of oestrogen. But this is actually not the case! Menstrual migraines 🤕are occurring because there is a dysfunction in the upper joints of the neck! When the upper joints of the neck are not in optimal positions, It causes a shift in the disc in the second and third neck joint. This results in pain signals being sent to an already hypersensitive brainstem 🧠which then interprets the pain signals at the brain to produces migraine symptoms. Now around menstrual cycle, hormones can heighten the sensitivity of the brainstem but it is not enough to trigger off a migraine. What triggers a migraines is the dysfunction in the upper joints of the neck!😬
This means that by simply treating the upper joints of your neck your menstrual migraines will disappear! 😮This is because treatment of the upper joints leads to decrease in sensitisation of the brainstem.
So the GREAT NEWS is Menstrual migraines now longer have to occur on a regular basis as hormones do not play a part in your migraines! 🤗
