Did you know that Exercise is the most evidence based treatment for tendon injuries. Tendons need to be progressively loaded so that they can become stronger. This means that a strengthening program using your own body weight or weights while in standing is more likely to help with intendon injury recovery. By loading the tendon optimally it will help remodel and rebuild the injured tendon by producing something called collagen which is vital for optimal tendon health!
However, here at My Favourite Physio, we commonly meet clients who are confused about how much to exercise should theyโve doing to help their Tendon Injury to recover. To keep it short and simple, think of exercise
as a drug. Too little will be ineffective, too much will be leading to side effects and the right dosage beneficial.
In addition, tendon injuries require a long time frame
for it to heal. There is no quick fix.
