2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

A day when the world 🌎 takes part in the puzzle pattern of blue, red, yellow and purple pieces that reflect the complexities and uniqueness of the autism spectrum. In 2021, the UN has chosen Inclusion in the Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities in a Post-Pandemic World.

Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorder is a lifelong development condition characterised by difficulties in social interaction, communication, restricted and repetitive interests and behaviours, and sensory sensitivities. The word spectrum reflects the wide range of challenges that people on the spectrum experience and the extent to which they may be affected. People on the autism spectrum experience difficulties with social interaction and impaired and unusual verbal and non-verbal communication.😳

The quality of life for many children and adults can be significantly improved by an early diagnosis and appropriate evidence informed treatment. Early intervention is important and effective in improving outcomes for children with ASD. 🚀🚀🚀

Here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists 🤓 see many children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and achieve great outcomes with each child 🧒 through specifically tailored Physiotherapy Early Intervention programs. Although as Physiotherapist, we focus on achieving gross motor skills, 🏃🏼‍♀️we also incorporate behavioural, speech and language 🗣and fine motor skills strategies to help each child become the best version that they can be! 💪
