Did you know that there are 17 million people across the world living with cerebral palsy and another 350 million people who are closely connected to a child or adult with Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood, and it is a permanent disability that affects movement. Its impact can range from a weakness in one hand, to almost a complete lack of voluntary movement.
Cerebral Palsy is a complex disability:
1 in 4 children with Cerebral Palsy cannot talk,
1 in 4 cannot walk,
1 in 2 have an intellectual disability,
1 in 4 have epilepsy.
* CP is a lifelong disability and there is no known cure.
This year, theme for World Cerebral Palsy Day is Millions of Reasons. As cerebral palsy affects more than 17 million people worldwide, there are millions of reasons to make your voice heard on October 6. Join the movement this World Cerebral Palsy day to help create awareness and action around cerebral palsy, because every person living with cerebral palsy is a reason to strive for change.
