Are you experiencing constant injuries in your hips, feet and knee with running
Trying to improve your running performance but not hitting goals because you are developing niggling injuries after running
If this is the case you may actually be over striding! Over striding in running is a term used to describe that you are going beyond your optimal stride length. This results in increase in strain to various structures of the body such as the:
– ITB (thigh muscle on the side)
– Patellofemoral joint (knee cap)
– Plantar load (arches of the feet)
– Tibial bone (shin)
– Hamstrings ( thigh muscle on the back)
The increase in stress generated to these regions is a result of increased vertical oscillations up and down when running due to over striding which results in the higher levels of strain and impact.
