Woke up with a stiff sore back again
Research shows that regular exercise to promote mobility and flexibility in your back is the No.1 thing you need to do prevent back pain. So many people think that the reason why they have back pain is because they do not participate in regular exercise at the gym or sports.
However, being active with your activities of daily living and work is a form of exercise for many people. Especially if your work keeps you on your feet and on the go, like builders, homemakers, teachers, truck drivers, plumbers. The tasks that you perform each day requires strength in the arms, back and legs. In fact, the tasks that you do is often repetitive and involves lifting heavy items not unlike going to the gym to lift weights. The issue is overuse of muscles doing repetitive movements, poor posture when doing the tasks, and not enough stretching to keep up with the work that your muscles do.
Over time your back and shoulder muscles become tight and knitted causing pain that limits the movement in your arms and back. Waking up with a stiff sore back becomes a daily routine. Then the common mistake that people do at this point is think that they don’t do any regular exercise at the gym so they start to go to the gym to exercise! With all that muscle tightness in their shoulders and back, it doesn’t take very much to then pull a muscle and injure themselves at the gym! When exercising at the gym causes your back pain to be worse, you quickly stop going to the gym… but often you can’t quit going to work the next day. So you are still performing the tasks at work that are actually the cause of your muscle tightness.. the cycle continues
