🤔Have you been told that your baby needs spinal adjustments to help them feed and breathe better 🤔
Have you been told that spinal adjustments are required because the birth process causes your newborn infant’s spine to be put out of alignment 😳

Did you know that there is no scientific evidence that there’s misalignment of a baby’s spine from birth and that that there is no evidence that a “misaligned spine’ is related to any of the symptoms like crying or unsettled sleep or feeding issues that a baby might have. 🧐However, there is a high risk of spinal injuries if a newborn baby’s spine is manipulated and cracked. 😳😳

The current guidelines issued by the Chiropractic Board of Australia and strongly supported by the Australia Physiotherapy Association and the Australian Medical Association, states that chiropractors DO NOT use spinal manipulation to treat children under two years of age. 🙅‍♂️A spinal manipulation is defined as “moving the joints of the spine beyond the child’s usual physiological range of motion using a high velocity, low amplitude thrust”. A spinal manipulation like this often results in a cracking sound from the spine with babies crying with distress. 😣

So if you are concerned about your newborn infant regarding their crying or unsettled sleep, it is best to consult your Paediatrician for advise. 👩‍⚕️If you are concerned about your newborn baby in the way they hold their heads to one side or the position of their feet and hips, speak to an Expert Paediatric Physiotherapist for advise. 🤓
