Does your 👶🏻 child with Special Needs have high muscle tone which causes them to be stiff in their arms and legs🤔Wondering what exercises can help your child to loosen up and move their arms and legs better

Did you know that Hydrotherapy can be very helpful for children with special needs 😲
Hydrotherapy is the use of water in the treatment of different conditions, including Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Juvenile arthritis, even pre- and post surgery rehabilitation. Hydrotherapy differs from swimming because it involves special exercises that you do in a warm-water pool. The water temperature is usually 33–36ºC, which is warmer than a typical swimming pool. Hydrotherapy is usually taught by Physiotherapists, 🤓with the focus of the exercises adjusted to help your child move their arms and legs freely in the water, or to strengthen their arm and leg muscles depending on their condition.

A child don’t have to be able to swim to benefit from hydrotherapy. A Hydrotherapy pool is usually quite shallow (about chest height), so that the Physiotherapist is able to hold your child and walk in the pool and support your child to move and exercise. There is usually a ramp access or hoist to enter a Hydrotherapy pool, so that children with Special Needs can be easily hoisted in and out of the pool. 😊

Hydrotherapy takes advantage of buoyancy of water and with the use of different types of floats, Hydrotherapy allows a child to progress the exercises with increasing resistance against the water, so they can 🦵strengthen their leg muscles even when they are unable to walk on land.
