Did you know that babies 👶🏻 should be able to sit by themselves by 7-8 months old? Some babies are sitting by themselves at 6 months. By 8 months old, babies should be moving in and out of sitting from lying easily.
If your baby 👶🏻 isn’t doing so, then they are likely to be delayed in their gross motor skills.
There are many reasons why your baby may not yet be sitting by themselves. For example, If your baby 👶🏻needs help to sit up or does not move out of sitting into lying or crawling then it’s likely that your baby is struggling with transitioning from sitting to lying or lying to sitting. 🧐Maybe you have noticed that your baby 👶🏻 is not able sit by themselves and they are older than 8 months old or you have noticed that your baby is sitting independently but slouching in sitting and falls over easily at 8 months old, then it’s likely that they have weak tummy and back muscles. 🤔Paediatric Physiotherapy can help your baby learn to sit independently by themselves, and that what our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists 🤓at My Favourite Physio do each day to help babies learn to move better.
