🦶Heel pain stopping your from running 🥴Tried all sorts of home remedies and different therapies but that heel pain keeps coming back again

1 in 5 Australians experience heel pain which has a significant detrimental impact on health-related quality of life. 😬Plantar heel pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions affecting the lower limb, and is known to affect both physically active and sedentary individuals. In athletes, the prevalence of plantar heel pain has been estimated at between 5 and 18%, making it one of the most common foot-related running-related injuries.

Here at My Favourite Physio, our Expert Physiotherapists🤓 have been able to help many people with recurrent heel pain who had reported having tried various home remedies and therapies with limited effect. In our experience, these are 3 key strategies that we implement to help our clients overcome their heel pain for good!
🦶1. A thorough assessment to determine the correct cause of heel pain. The most common causes of heel pain are Plantar fasciitis and Archilles tendinopathy. It is important to differentiate which structure is causing your heel pain, so you can achieve long term relief. In our clinic, we use Radial Shockwave Therapy to effectively release the muscle tightness, reduce soft tissue inflammation to eliminate heel pain.

🦶2. Assessment of the foot bone structure and foot dynamics to prevent recurrence of the heel pain. Often, the foot bones are collapsing in the mid foot and stretching the foot arches which results in heel pain. Our Expert Physiotherapists would recommend customised orthotics to keep the foot bones aligned during activity to prevent recurring heel pain.

🦶3. A Home Program to maintain foot bone dynamics and muscle integrity is required to ensure optimal function and performance. Our Expert Physiotherapists would recommend good footwear and orthotics is needed, at all times. As well as specific foot stretches and strengthening exercises.
