😭Is your child waking up crying with pain at night complaining that their legs hurt 🤔Wondering is this growing pains or is this something you should be worried about

Growing pains typically refer to a common phenomenon experienced by children, usually between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. These pains are characterised by aching or discomfort in the legs, often in the evening or at night. Growing pains are not associated with actual growth but are rather a term used to describe the discomfort that some children feel as their bodies and muscles develop.😯

Here are the symptoms of growing pains:
🦵The pain is commonly felt in the front of the thighs, calves, or behind the knees.
🌜Growing pains typically occur late in the day or at night. Children may go to bed feeling fine but wake up with leg pain.
😣The pain usually comes and goes and may last for varying durations.
🤔There is usually no swelling, redness, or other signs of inflammation in the affected areas.
🦵Growing pains often affect both legs, rather than just one.
😊Massaging the legs or applying warmth, such as with a warm bath or heating pad, may provide relief.
⛹️Growing pains are typically not associated with physical activity. 🤾‍♀️Children with growing pains can usually participate in sports and activities without worsening their symptoms.

While growing pains are a common cause of nighttime leg pain in children, there are other potential reasons for discomfort or pain. 🤔If the pain persists or is accompanied by other concerning symptoms, it is important to see your family doctor or a Paediatrician or an Expert Paediatric Physiotherapist.🤓
