Have you been taught Neck exercises for your neck pain, Headaches 🤕 and Migraines 🤔

🧐Did you know that Deep Neck Muscle strengthening exercises are crucial to help prevent recurring Headaches and Migraines 🤯

Think of Deep Neck Muscles 💪 as the muscles that are lying on the spine of the neck. On top of the Deep Neck Muscles is a layer of superficial muscles that are on the closer to the skin on your neck.

The role of the Deep Neck Muscles 💪 is to keep the Neck spine stable during movement. The outer Superficial Neck Muscles are the actual muscles that move the neck when you turn side to side or up and down. When Deep Neck Muscles are not working properly, the neck spine is not stable which results in poor posture at all times. The poor neck posture places an increased load on the neck joints which over time leads to neck joint stiffness and pain. 😖

This neck joint stiffness and pain 😖then leads to increased pain signals to an oversensitive brainstem, 🧠which goes up to the brain where it interprets the signals as Headache 🤕and Migraine. The brain sends signals back down to the oversensitive brainstem which goes to the different senses causing 🥴dizziness, light 💡and sound sensitivity, head pain, nausea and vomiting.🤮

This is why for all migraine 🤕and headache patients it is important to strengthen the Deep Neck Muscles after Headache and Migraine treatment to prevent recurring Headaches and Migraines, as well as to maintain healthy strong neck muscles and be free of Neck Pain.
