The Summer Holidays are almost over and 🏫School Term for 2024 is just around the corner! 👟That means it’s time for Back To School shoe shopping!

As every child and their parent hits the shops for Back To School sales, here are 3 Top Tips for choosing the right school shoes for your child:

👧1. Get school shoes that have flexible soles which suits your child.
Most school shoes are designed to have flexible soles, but some designs have thicker soles than others. Depending on the size of your child, some shoes have soles that may be too thick for your child, so when they walk they are unable to bend the sole of the shoe to push off. If your child looks like they are stomping when they walk, the shoes are probably too stiff for them.

👧2. Get school shoes that are lightweight for your child.
Again depending on the size and built of your child, leather shoes may be too stiff and heavy for your child. Instead softer lighter weight black sports shoes may suit your child better. Sport shoes generally have better shock absorption soles which will be better to wear all day if your child is active and enjoys running around playing sports during recess and lunch time.

👧3. Get school shoes that are the right size now for your child.
Many parents opt to get a bigger size so that school shoes can last for longer than 2 terms for their child so that it is more economical for the budget. However, having school shoes 2 sizes too big is more comfortable for your child and would inhibit them from being active while wearing it. Children do grow at different stages, often not in line with Back to School Sales. So a better way to save money is to buy two pairs of school shoes during the sales, and keep the larger size for when your child outgrows the current one.
