How is a Migraine different from a Headache
Migraine is a condition with a wide variety of symptoms. For many people the main feature of a Migraine is a painful headache or pain in the head region. However, it is also possible to have a Migraine without any Headaches or pain the head region. Other symptoms of a Migraine includes disturbed vision, sensitivity to light, sound and smells, nausea, dizziness and vomiting. Migraine attacks can be very debilitating resulting in the Migraine Sufferer having to lie still for several hours in bed in darkness until the Migraine attack goes away.
Migraine symptoms vary from person to person and not everyone will experience the same symptoms. Migraines can present as episodes of attacks that differ in length and frequency for everybody. In general, Migraine attacks usually lasts from 4 hours to 72 hours and Migraine Sufferers are usually symptom free between the Migraine attacks. Migraines can negatively impact the Migraine Sufferers work life, social life and family life. Migraines are often poorly managed and Migraine Sufferers often don’t know why they have Migraines and how to overcome their Migraines. Many Migraine Sufferers feel frustrated, anxious and helpless about their condition and the impact on their lives.
